MCT 230 - Digital Logic and Fundamentals of PLCS 3 credit(s) The course covers the fundamentals of digital logic and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) as they are applied in robotics and automation. Includes number systems, Boolean algebra, logic gates and circuits, flip-flops and registers, counters, timers, memory addressing and interfacing, as well as the basic PLC programming in Ladder (LAD) and Function Block Diagram (FBD). The actual industrial PLCs, Siemens S7-1200, as well as Human Machine Interface (HMI) will be used in the laboratory exercises.
