The comprehensive two-semester (13-credit) program comprises four 3-credit courses and one 1-credit lab (three contact hours). It is designed to equip students with the essential skills needed to start a career as PLC and Robotic Automation (PRA) Technicians, the curriculum offers thorough instruction tailored to the specific demands of the industry. Graduates of this program will be ready to assume roles as PRA technicians within the diverse areas of the service industry. Furthermore, the credits earned through completion of the certificate program can be transferable to Vaughn College’s Mechatronic Engineering program, providing students with a seamless pathway to further their education and career prospects. Finally, the courses learned from the program prepare students with the required skills successfully pass SACA (Smart Automation Certification Alliance) examinations, leading to the attainment of industry-recognized micro-credential certificates, such as Automation Systems Specialist, Control System Specialist, Robotics Systems Specialist, Network Systems Specialist, and Mechanical Systems Specialist.
